Little House On A County Road

A dear friend wanted to know what our home looks like on the inside. So I’m opening the door. Come on inside …

Below is our entry way from the front door leading into the living room. See if you can spot the “eagle” from my book …

Our living room below from a few angles …

Do you see the red chest/trunk below? By the chair? It makes for a good drink holder. But it houses all my Bible study books from since I was about 27 … when I really fell in love with Jesus. A treasure chest …

A picture of John Wayne, my husband’s hero, hangs on the wall beside the rocking chair. Our curtain rod holders need to be moved out to the window edges, but this is where they were when we bought the house, and I imagine this is where they’ll always stay.

This is Aslan, better known as Azzie, on the ottoman …

Our dining room …

Our small kitchen. We often run into each other in this room. The girls used to love watching the “Property Brothers” so they could figure out how to improve this room … never gonna happen.

Kitchen/pantry/island area, with door leading out to garage (that houses my washer/dryer … yes, I have no “laundry room”) …

The master bedroom below …

I love these shutters in the master bathroom  …

Karalee’s upstairs bedroom. This first picture is the door leading up to her room. I love this door …

Head up the stairs, which are as slick as can be when you have socks on …

This is the biggest room in the whole house. All my kitchen square footage is here …

I love her sliding barn/bathroom door. Those two blue “laundry baskets” house all her stuffed animals from childhood that she just can’t part with. And her closet is to the left, with access to the attic … we have to pull everything out of her closet just to change the air filter.

There is a little “nook” in the wall, a window seat. She can sit here with the cat and look out over the property. This is the one wall that displays all her precious, favorite “baby” things …

Katelyn’s bedroom …

And if you walk out the back door, you’ll find the girls’ favorite room … and our only fireplace.

We love it here, love living on this beloved Texas county road … in spite of the many scorpions that check in. We love our two sheep. And we especially love our walking trail that goes around the back property.

I hope you enjoyed the tour.
